Impartial Review: Bondi Sands self tanning mist

If you’re anything like me, getting a tan is one of your main summer goals, but did you know that overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation is the main preventable cause of skin cancers, according to Cancer Research UK?

Since reading those sobering stats, I’ve been looking for some more skin-friendly solutions, including Bondi Sands self-tanning mist.

Smell

I associate lots of different smells with summer; suncream, chlorine, the sea… and from now on, coconut.

This mist smells like fresh coconut, and considering how terrible most tanning products smell, this is seriously good news.

Effectiveness

I took the mist on holiday and used it in the evenings after a shower to top up the day’s tanning, and boy did it work. The mist added a natural looking layer of bronze without going streaky or looking too orange.

Convenience

Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Mist retails at £14.99 from www.superdrug.com. The bottle fit in my toiletries bag and I whipped it out before getting ready for the evening’s antics.

I made sure I washed and exfoliated my skin beforehand and thoroughly washed my hands afterwards to avoid oompa loompa palms.

Ingredients

This product is enriched with aloe vera and infused with the fresh scent of coconut, but there are also some baddies in the mix, including alcohol which dries out the skin.

I made sure I moisturised with Nip + Fab’s Glycolic Fix body cream after using the mist.

The R Factor

Bondi Sands is Australia’s bestselling self-tanning brand, and I can see why. After the initial shock at how dark the mist came out when sprayed it, I had no further scary moments or strange looks after application. I would definitely recommend this product for a quick and easy tan top-up.

But enough about me, here’s what other bloggers are saying:
