How much does my face cost?

The ‘how much does my face cost’ tag has been floating around the vloggersphere for a long time now. I don’t know why, but everyone is obsessed with knowing how much other people spend on their faces.

After watching a few of the videos and reading blogger’s versions of the tag, some of whose totals came to over £500 (!) I was immediately curious about how much I was spending on my face too.

I pride myself on being pretty frugal when it comes to skincare and make up, but I was in for a shock when I totted up my total.

Here are the makeup and skincare products I use daily:

Neutrogena visibly clear blackhead eliminating daily scrub – £3.50

Body shop tea tree oil face wash – £5.50

Simple skin perfecting beauty balm – £4.45

Dermalogica C-12 pure bright serum – £59.90

Dr Perricone MD no foundation foundation in ‘2’ – £45

Natural collection blusher in ‘blushed cheeks’ – £1.99

Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara – £19.50

Dior lip maximiser collagen activ – £23.50

P.S. Love your skin gentle cleansing wipes – £1

Lavera basis sensitive Q10 anti ageing night cream – £14.95

Total: £179.29

And that’s without the products I use for special occasions like Touche Eclat highlighter or GOSH’s matt lipsticks, and without perfume or hair products which doesn’t even bear thinking about… Or does it?

I’m pretty sure the total was way lower before I started blogging and getting freebies from some of the more expensive brands, but I’ll stop making excuses now…

Check out some other costly faces:

Elin Likes: £173.85

Glam Necessities: £326.33 ($512.25)

The Beautorialist: £536.61 ($842)
